Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
