The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
