It too is taken on a daily basis, and costs about $450 per month. Naltrexone is another med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it is an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
