At clinics which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond this and the primary treatment goal is to address the withdrawal symptoms and put an end to the illicit drug use. Some clinics do deliver a limited amount of counseling and group therapy as auxiliary treatment, and it is recommended and encouraged.
