SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Kewaskum, WI.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Kewaskum are programs which are legally allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can get their basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
