It too is taken on a daily basis, and costs around $450 a month. Naltrexone is another drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it is an opioid blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
