Buprenorphine and methadone clients are on these medications consistently so they don't experience withdrawal symptoms, etc. but hopefully at a dosage which isn't also causing them to feel high. Euphoria is possible at a high dosage, more significantly with methadone than buprenorphine. At clinics which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond managing the medication and the main treatment goal is to address the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some clinics do deliver a limited amount of counseling and therapy as auxiliary treatment, and this is recommended and encouraged.
