Short Term drug rehabilitation is a term used to mean addiction rehab that is brief, and lasts from 14 to 30 days in either an inpatient or residential treatment facility. Because rehab is so short, it is a great financial option in most cases and for clients who for some reason cannot endure long-term rehabilitation.
Most short-term alcohol and drug rehab centers in Ojibwa have group and individual counseling and psychotherapy which is basically relapse prevention. Because of the short time clients are in treatment, most clients will need to be fully detoxed before beginning services. One of the disadvantages of rehab at a short-term substance abuse rehabilitation center is that clients may still be experiencing the beginning stages of withdrawal and may be more unfocused than someone who has stabilized and detoxed fully. This can make treatment within the specific timeframe much more challenging, as clients may be physically uncomfortable and moody and experiencing intense cravings.
Relapse rates are understandably higher with individuals who only receive short term rehabilitation as opposed to long term. Individuals who participate in short term substance abuse rehabilitation and then transition into an outpatient program or day rehabilitation program at least have better odds of staying sober because they will maintain a support system while they transition to a sober lifestyle.
