At clinics which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are generally limited beyond managing the medication and the main treatment goal is to address the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some clinics do deliver a limited amount of counseling and therapy as auxiliary services, and it is recommended and encouraged.
