Clients Referred from the Court - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Justice, WV.

Treatment clients referred from the court for substance abuse treatment are most commonly referred because they are being given a chance to accept treatment instead of jail time, other charges, fines, etc. Although this is most common with first time offenders, it can be offered at any point such as while the defendant is already incarcerated. There are different types of facilities that criminal justice clients might be referred to, and it usually all depends on what is available in Justice and the type of substance they'll need treatment for.

There are treatment programs that work exclusively with the courts to treat this specific group of clientele, and are usually state or federally funded or are offered at little or no cost to the client. There are also private substance abuse rehab facilities that may be accepted by the court if there is a specific type of recovery method that the person requires or desires that a state-funded program can't provide. The client's legal representation can request such options to the judge for permission. There are even addiction recovery centers that provide services from the correctional institutions themselves, where clients are sometimes in a better position for early release or other leniencies when engaging in addiction rehabilitation services while serving their sentence for a drug related offense or a DUI/DWI.
