Buprenorphine and methadone clients are on these medications daily so they don't experience cravings, withdrawal, etc. but ideally at a dose which isn't at the same time causing them to feel high. Euphoria is possible at a high dosage, more significantly with methadone than buprenorphine. At clinics that treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond this and the primary treatment goal is to manage the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some centers do provide a small amount of counseling and group therapy as secondary services, and this is encouraged.
