Naltrexone is another med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
