Regular outpatient recovery is usually a less costly choice to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse treatment around in Granite Canon. Some clients are attending rehab for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a "step-down" to service following treatment in a more intense outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient program.
Regular out-patient rehabilitation options include group and individual counseling services occurring once maybe twice per week. Facilities which include a more diverse range of services may include counseling (CBT) to assist with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders. How long a person remains involved in rehab can change from client to client, and a person's improvement can be judged occasionally and more rehab can be recommended contingent upon these evaluations.
In many cases, a regular outpatient treatment facility is going to be insufficient in intensity for someone who is attempting to address a bad drug and alcohol problem and has never gone to treatment before or has relapsed following previous outpatient treatment.
