Drug Rehab Edison, NJ.

The township of Edison is located in the state of New Jersey, in Middlesex County where with a population of around 100,000 residents it is the 5th most populous municipality in the state. The population has experienced steady growth in recent years, rising from around 89,000 in 1990 and around 98,000 in 2000 to its current number. The city has received several acknowledgments in the past decade or so, including being ranked as one of the 10 best places to grow up in 2009 by U.S. News and World Report.

If drugs or alcohol are a problem for someone you care about, or if perhaps you are struggling with a substance abuse problem in Edison, there are several treatment options to choose from which can help stop the problem once and for all. Not all options are quality options however, so it can be helpful to understand the different rehabs available and which ones have the best success rates for clients both short and long term. For example, there are support groups such as AA and outpatient program, but newly abstinent clients often need to be in an inpatient or residential drug rehab program especially if they are heavily dependent to drugs or alcohol because of long term use. This will ensure they are at the lowest risk possible of a relapse. And because relapse can even be fatal at times, this is not something to be considered lightly. Because individuals will very likely experience both physical and emotional challenges for some time to come even when in a rehab, it is important that their environment is drug and alcohol free as well as distraction free while they take part in a comprehensive treatment program to become rehabilitated in every way possible. This is why long-term inpatient and residential programs in Edison are by far the most ideal.

Successful Intervention Strategies - Edison, NJ.

There are a few different drug and alcohol intervention methods and strategies that families in Edison might choose to use. The most popular among these are the Johnson Intervention Model, the Family Invitational Model, and the Systemic Intervention Model.

a) The Johnson Model

This is the model that most people visualize when they think about an intervention. This approach involves confronting the addict when they are not expecting it, and then showing them how their actions and behavior have affected both themselves and each loved one in the intervention.

The team will then go on to insist that the addict go to rehab from a facility already picked out by the family - going so far as to reiterate that they will offer their support in the process. If the addict refuses to go to the rehab program, the loved ones will make ultimatums, usually referred to as guidelines, laying out the consequences the individual will suffer if they refuse treatment.

This real threat of consequences is what many people say makes the Johnson Model the most successful out of of all drug and alcohol intervention strategies. Nevertheless, some people may feel that this method involves too much confrontation, and rather opt for another method.

b) The Family Invitational Model

This is another approach you may want to employ. The main idea is that it doesn't use the surprise confrontation like the previously discussed model. Instead, the addict will know what is going to occur when they are invited to the pre-arranged meeting.

The addict will also be allowed the choice to decide if they will attend the intervention gathering, as well as engage and respond to the issues and the proposed solutions raised at the intervention.

c) The Systemic Intervention Model

Here, the family will meet up with a trained and certified therapist - with the addict present. The therapist will supervise and direct the dialog towards healing and discovering effective solutions to the problem - which may or may not involve the addict attending a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.
